Baseball Recap: Lanphier Takes a Loss

Lanphier made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Athens, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Lions fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 2-0 on Monday. The Lions have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Lanphier saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaimen Smith, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Smith is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Lanphier's loss dropped their record down to 1-20. As for Athens, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lanphier will head out to face off against Springfield Southeast at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Athens, they will take on Tri-City at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
