Basketball Game Preview: Glynn Academy Terrors vs. Statesboro Blue Devils

The Glynn Academy Terrors will head out to square off against the Statesboro Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Glynn Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Statesboro will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Saturday, Glynn Academy earned a 44-36 win over Richmond Hill. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Terrors.

Glynn Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Faith Jernigan out in front who posted 12 points and three steals. Janiyah Spaulding was another key player, putting up eight points along with eight rebounds and four steals.

Meanwhile, Statesboro played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Brunswick 60-33. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 224th, while the Pirates are ranked 87th).

This is the second loss in a row for Statesboro and nudges their season record down to 10-13. As for Glynn Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season.

Glynn Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Statesboro in their previous matchup back in January, winning 49-38. The rematch might be a little tougher for Glynn Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
