Penn Yan Academy/Dundee gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 34-20 victory over Newark/Marion. The win was a breath of fresh air for Penn Yan Academy/Dundee as it put an end to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Newark/Marion lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Levar Moore, who picked up 165 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 43 yards. That's the most rushing yards Moore has posted since back in September of 2023. Another signal caller making a difference was Mike McGavisk, who threw for 259 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per attempt.
