The Rogers Vikings will take on the Ponaganset Chieftains at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Rogers is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

Providence Country Day hit Rogers with a four-run second inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Vikings took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Trenton Carter put in work while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

Carter wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cole Milburn, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double was Milburn's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Ponaganset earned an 8-5 victory over Prout on Friday.

Rogers' loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Ponaganset, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-10.
