While Burlingame's win against San Mateo wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Panthers narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Bearcats 5-4. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Bearcats: they've now won six in a row.

Nash Trautwein got the start for Burlingame and what a start it was: he tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, Drew Gall was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Lau, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Burlingame's record now sits at 2-0. As for San Mateo, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Burlingame wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 1-0 victory against Sacred Heart Prep on the 3rd. As for San Mateo, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-4 win against Menlo School on the 3rd.
