Basketball Recap: Kaden Austin-Wallace's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lyman over Atlantic

Lyman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost to the Atlantic Sharks at home by a 62-46 margin. While losing is never fun, the Greyhounds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 497th, while the Sharks are ranked 82nd).

Lyman's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaden Austin-Wallace, who posted 11 points and four steals. Austin-Wallace has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Damir Carter, who earned ten points.

Even though they lost, Lyman was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

Lyman's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Atlantic, they pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Lyman wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 66-31 loss against St. Cloud on the 4th. As for Atlantic, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-46 win against Rockledge on the 4th.
