Fredericksburg had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Calallen Wildcats a 2-0 shutout on Thursday. The victory was familiar territory for the Billies, who have now won 13 contests in a row.

Not much got past Ava Stuewe, who gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Calallen off the board.

Fredericksburg pushed their record up to 25-9 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Calallen, the loss snapped their winning streak at 17 games and leaves them with a 29-5 record.

Fredericksburg will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
