Soccer Recap: Santa Maria Comes Up Short

Santa Maria was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the San Luis Obispo Tigers. If the Saints were looking for revenge after losing 1-0 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Santa Maria now has a losing record at 5-6-2. As for San Luis Obispo, they pushed their record up to 7-5-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Santa Maria will square off against Paso Robles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Paso Robles' last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
