Basketball Recap: Lakeland Comes Up Short

After flying high against Walled Lake Western last Thursday, Lakeland came back down to earth. The Lakeland Eagles fell 54-46 to the West Bloomfield Lakers on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 128th, while the Lakers are ranked 48th).

Lakeland's loss dropped their record down to 16-7. As for West Bloomfield, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-8 record this season.

Lakeland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West Bloomfield, they will square off against St. Mary's Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
