Volleyball Recap: West Brook Takes a Loss

After flying high against Beaumont United on Tuesday, West Brook came back down to earth. The Bruins fell just short of the Port Neches-Groves Indians by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The Bruins haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

West Brook wouldn't go down easily and took Port Neches-Groves into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-18, 23-25, 21-25, 15-12.

West Brook's loss dropped their record down to 23-11. As for Port Neches-Groves, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 28-13 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. West Brook will face off against rival Nederland at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Port Neches-Groves is set to challenge their familiar foe Sterling at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
