Basketball Recap: Hampton Park Christian vs. Upstate HomeSchool Bearcats
In what's become a running theme this season, Hampton Park Christian gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They put the hurt on Upstate HomeSchool with a sharp 59-38 win. Winning may never get old, but Hampton Park Christian sure is getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Leading Hampton Park Christian to victory were Seth Moeder and Trevor Gearhart. Moeder almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds, while Gearhart dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Gearhart hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for 11 straight games. Jack Gantt was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Hampton Park Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Upstate HomeSchool, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-15.
Hampton Park Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Greenville Classical Academy is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Upstate HomeSchool, they will head out on the road to square off against the at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Bob Jones Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 15 games -- so hopefully the Bearcats like a good challenge.
