Preview: Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes vs. Summerville Green Wave
Ashley Ridge is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Summerville is on a 12-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes will take on the Summerville Green Wave at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Tuesday, Ashley Ridge was able to grind out a solid victory over Cane Bay, taking the game 60-49.
Meanwhile, Summerville earned a 80-70 victory over West Ashley on Tuesday. Given Summerville's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while West Ashley is ranked 55th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ashley Ridge has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Summerville, their win bumped their record up to 16-2.
Ashley Ridge might still be hurting after the 81-55 defeat they got from Summerville in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Ashley Ridge avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
