Softball Recap: Portage Indians vs. Michigan City Wolves        
        
		
            
 Portage scored the most  runs they've had all season to find success  on Tuesday. They walked away with  a   20-15  victory over the Michigan City Wolves. The  win was a breath of fresh air for Portage as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.
  Brooklyn Demercede made a splash while hitting and pitching. She  pitched 3.1 innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Demercede was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring three  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-5.
 In other batting news, Portage got a  massive  performance out of  Cora Kingrey, who  went 4-for-4 with a  home run, four  RBI,  and a  double. Another player making a difference was  Addison Martinez, who  scored four  runs and  stole two bases while going 3-for-4.
 On Michigan City's side,  Ann Sawyer was cooking despite her team's loss,   scoring four  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of  Paulecia Isom, who  scored four  runs while  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances.
 Portage's victory  ended  a  three-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 7-12. As for Michigan City, they have  traveled a rocky road recently having  lost 11 of their last 12 contests,  which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record  this season.
 Portage will  face off against Andrean at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Andrean will roll in looking for their  sixth straight  win, something Portage surely won't give up without a fight. As for Michigan City, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Westville at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Westville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4  runs per game  this season.
