Preview: Glen Allen Jaguars vs. Midlothian Trojans
The Glen Allen Jaguars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Midlothian Trojans at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Glen Allen will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
Last Saturday, Glen Allen strolled past Charles J. Colgan with points to spare, taking the game 56-41. Given Glen Allen's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while Charles J. Colgan is ranked 222nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Glen Allen's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Faron Friend, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 10 rebounds. The matchup was Friend's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyson Granderson, who scored 11 points along with 6 steals.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought match, but Midlothian had to settle for a 48-45 loss against Cosby on Friday. Midlothian has struggled against Cosby recently, as their match on Friday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Glen Allen's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Midlothian, their loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-3.
Glen Allen strolled past Midlothian in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 by a score of 66-52. Will Glen Allen repeat their success, or does Midlothian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
