Softball Game Preview: Cornwall Central Dragons vs. Monticello Panthers

Cornwall Central is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Monticello a ten-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Cornwall Central Dragons will host the Monticello Panthers at 5:00 p.m.

Cornwall Central is headed into the game having just suffered their closest loss since April 10, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of Warwick by a score of 3-1.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Monticello). They were the clear victors by a 19-7 margin over Liberty on Tuesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Cornwall Central's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Monticello, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-11.

Cornwall Central took their win against Monticello in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 21-2 score. Will the Dragons repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
