Baseball Recap: Hickman County Wins Going Away Against Ballard Memorial

Hickman County owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Wednesday. They blew past the Ballard Memorial Bombers 7-0. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won seven games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Not much got past Kobe Yamauchi, who gave up just a hit and racked up ten Ks to keep Ballard Memorial off the board. Yamauchi has been consistent: he hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Korbin Kimbell was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last nine contests. Nyiahez Irons also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Hickman County's win bumped their record up to 10-3-1. As for Ballard Memorial, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Looking ahead, Hickman County will look to defend their home field on Friday against Owensboro Catholic at 10:00 a.m. As for Ballard Memorial, they are taking a road trip to take on Christian County at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday.
