Soccer Recap: Sacred Heart-Griffin Takes a Loss

Sacred Heart-Griffin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Columbia Eagles. While losing is never fun, Sacred Heart-Griffin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while Columbia are ranked 27th).

Sacred Heart-Griffin's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Columbia, their win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2-2.

Sacred Heart-Griffin didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Providence Catholic on the 26th. As for Columbia, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next game, a 3-1 victory against Rochester on the 26th.
