Football Recap: Peter Mclaughlin and Joshua Sylvain Pace North Broward Prep Defense

North Broward Prep managed to keep up with Saint Andrew until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Eagles lost 31-9 to the Scots. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Scots: they've now lost six in a row.

North Broward Prep didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Peter McLaughlin and Joshua Sylvain. McLaughlin is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last 14 games he's played dating back to last season. Another thorn in Saint Andrew's side was Noah Finkelstein, who made 17 total tackles.

Special teams was responsible for all of the team's points. All those points came courtesy of Mateo Sanchez: he added nine points with three field goals.

Remi DeOrsey produced another solid effort rushing for 159 yards and four touchdowns for Saint Andrew's.

North Broward Prep now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Saint Andrew's, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, North Broward Prep will take on Somerset Academy Key at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will be up against the Lions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.2 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Saint Andrew's, they will welcome Somerset Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
