Jena waltzed into their game on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Marksville Tigers a 15-0 shutout. Considering the Giants have won 15 matches by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Cayden Mursch, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Isaiah Todd was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Jena always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They are 15-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Jena's win was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Marksville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 14 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season.

Jena will venture away from home to take on Northwood at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Marksville, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Marksville Tigers face off against Abbeville Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
