Softball Game Preview: Phoenix Christian Cougars vs. Scottsdale Christian Academy Eagles

The Phoenix Christian Cougars will challenge the Scottsdale Christian Academy Eagles at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Phoenix Christian's favor as the team sits on 13 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Scottsdale Christian Academy has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.

Phoenix Christian's tournament run continued when they took on Round Valley last Friday. Phoenix Christian came up short against Round Valley, falling 12-4. The game marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Phoenix Christian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brianna Guerrero, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. Guerrero is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.

Meanwhile, Scottsdale Christian Academy got the win against Trivium Prep on Friday by a conclusive 20-4.

Having lost for the first time this season, Phoenix Christian fell to 6-1. As for Scottsdale Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Phoenix Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Scottsdale Christian Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2021, winning 12-9. Will Phoenix Christian repeat their success, or does Scottsdale Christian Academy has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
