Basketball Recap: Tri-County Takes a Loss

Tri-County was the 52-42 winner over Mercer when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Tri-County Mustangs took a 33-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mercer Cardinals on Friday.

Tri-County's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Mercer, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Tri-County and Grundy County/Newtown-Harris will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 6:00 p.m. on February 18th. Grundy County/Newtown-Harris has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Mercer will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Gilman City at 6:00 p.m. on February 18th.
