Basketball Game Preview: Guyer Wildcats vs. Braswell Bengals

The Guyer Wildcats will head out to take on the Braswell Bengals at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Guyer sitting on nine straight victories and Braswell on six.

Guyer is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Lewisville 76-39. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 contests by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Braswell didn't have too much trouble with Hebron on Friday as they won 46-27. Given the Bengals' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while the Hawks are ranked 258th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Guyer's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 29-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.2 points per game. As for Braswell, their record now sits at 31-2.

Guyer skirted past Braswell 49-47 in their previous matchup back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Guyer since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
