Basketball Recap: Gavin Hall's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Winter Haven over Dr. Phillips

Winter Haven lost against Dr. Phillips back in February of 2019 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Blue Devils took a 66-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers.

Winter Haven lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Gavin Hall, who shot 41% from the field on his way to 17 points and eight boards. Corey Bailey Jr was another key player, going 7-for-14 en route to 16 points and six rebounds.

Winter Haven's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Dr. Phillips, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Winter Haven is headed away from home for the first time to square off against Lake Region at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Dr. Phillips, they will square off against Freedom at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
