Lewis & Clark recap Oct. 23, 2012
Marceline extended the longest winning streak in Lewis & Clark this week by beating Slater, 50-12. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Tigers.
Salisbury took down Paris 49-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Blake Linebaugh and Blake Belzer gave Marceline a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Linebaugh threw for 88 yards and two touchdowns, while Belzer ran for 142 yards. Dakota Lewis also contributed to the rushing game with 74 yards on the ground.
Zane Jacoby provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Westran bested Fayette. He completed two passes for 65 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 109 yards. Jacoby's favorite target this week was Clay Ames, who caught one pass for 53 yards.
Westran's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Hornets feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jacoby has thrown for 993 yards and 19 touchdowns this season, while Devin Perkins has 14 catches for 445 yards. Jacoby also leads the league in rushing with 1541 yards.
Belzer of the Paul Thomas' team is only 86 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Belzer has rushed for 914 yards on 158 carries so far this year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Tigers take on Slater. As it stands, Marceline is in third, while Chris Ferri's team is in sixth.
The Tigers led Lewis & Clark in scoring this week after putting up 50 points on the Wildcats. Linebaugh ran for 38 yards in the win.
