Baseball Game Preview: Peddie Falcons vs. Mercersburg Academy Storm

The Peddie Falcons will challenge the Mercersburg Academy Storm at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Peddie's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Mercersburg Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Peddie lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Blair Academy, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's game. The Falcons put the hurt on the Bucs with a sharp 20-3 win on Wednesday. The Falcons' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Mercersburg Academy came out on top against Saint James on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Storm narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Saints 6-5. The Storm haven't had any issues with the Saints recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Kellen Benner, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Drew Wishard was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Mercersburg Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Peddie, their win bumped their record up to 5-1-1.

Peddie beat Mercersburg Academy 9-4 when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Storm have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
