Baseball Game Preview: Viera Hawks vs. Bloomingdale Bulls

The Viera Hawks are taking a road trip to take on the Bloomingdale Bulls at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Viera's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Bloomingdale's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Viera is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They came out on top against Martin County by a score of 5-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hawks.

Lake Minneola typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Bloomingdale proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Hawks.

James Osting tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cesar Campos, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. Isaiah Perez was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run.

Bloomingdale is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 18 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Viera, their record now sits at 22-11.
