Volcano Vista won the last time they faced Sandia and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Hawks skirted past the Matadors 3-2. The game was the first time the Hawks have beaten the Matadors on their court since November 11, 2016.

Volcano Vista was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-16, 22-25, 25-19, 15-7.

Volcano Vista has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coincidentally, Volcano Vista and Sandia will both be playing Albuquerque the next time they take the court. The Matadors will head out to face the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Hawks will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
