Baseball Recap: St. Vincent de Paul Mustangs vs. Piner Prospectors
St. Vincent de Paul had lost eight straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 3-16 to make it nine. They fell just short of the Piner Prospectors by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Prospectors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-7 on April 2nd.
Jacob Troy was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double was his first of the season.
As for Piner, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-13. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted against St. Vincent de Paul since April 26, 2023.
