Baseball Game Preview: Tawas Area Braves vs. Alcona Tigers

The Tawas Area Braves will take on the Alcona Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tawas Area is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.

Tawas Area lost 8-2 to Grayling on Tuesday. The Braves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Aidan Smith made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Muckenthler, who earned one run and two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Alcona got themselves on the board against Hale on Monday, but Hale never followed suit. They blew past the Eagles 20-0. The Tigers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

With the victory, Alcona broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-3. As for Tawas Area, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Everything went Tawas Area's way against Alcona in their previous meeting back in May of 2023, as Tawas Area made off with a 12-0 win. Will the Braves repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
