Cameron Tate leads Velma Jackson to victory over Pisgah

The Velma Jackson Falcons won the last time they faced the Pisgah Dragons, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Velma Jackson snuck past Pisgah with a 45-40 win.
Cameron Tate was the offensive standout of the match as he scored 26 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Those 26 points set a new season-high mark for he. Another player making a difference was Joel Fleming, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Velma Jackson's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Pisgah, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Velma Jackson will be home for the holidays to greet Leake County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Leake County is ranked 190th, while Velma Jackson is ranked 168th). As for Pisgah, they will stay at home for another game and welcome McLaurin at 7:15 p.m. on December 15th. Hopefully McLaurin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Tuesday.
