Baseball Recap: Petersburg Comes Up Short

Petersburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They fell 9-6 to the Springlake-Earth Wolverines. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolverines this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-4 on April 4th.

Petersburg saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joshua Cantu, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Darian Marquez also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Petersburg's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Springlake-Earth, they moved to 7-10-1 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Petersburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Springlake-Earth, they will welcome Crosbyton at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
