Softball Game Preview: Atherton Ravens vs. Pleasure Ridge Park Panthers

The Atherton Ravens are taking a road trip to take on the Pleasure Ridge Park Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Atherton is looking for their season's first win.

Atherton came into this matchup off a tough six-run defeat on Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Sacred Heart by a score of 7-5 on Tuesday.

Atherton saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zytka Ruiz, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1. Another was Izzy Cummins, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Pleasure Ridge Park took on Cooper on Friday. Pleasure Ridge Park came up short against Cooper, falling 14-5. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Jaguars: they've now lost three in a row.

Catherine Wright made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendra Lee, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Atherton's record is now 0-4. As for Pleasure Ridge Park, their record now sits at 1-1.
