Chincoteague has gone 9-1 against Wicomico recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Ponies are taking a road trip to challenge the Indians at 3:30 p.m. Wicomico took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Chincoteague, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, Chincoteague made easy work of Holly Grove Christian and carried off a 12-1 victory.

Meanwhile, Wicomico was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 17-4 to Bennett. On the bright side, the four- run performance marked the Indians' highest-scoring match to date.

Amber Moore put in work no matter where she played. She struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up ten earned (and seven unearned) runs off seven hits. Those hits were her first of the season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Aleah Shah made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Chincoteague's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Wicomico, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Chincoteague took their victory against Wicomico in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 22-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Ponies since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
