Basketball Recap: Amber Neill Key Part of a Team Effort in Wildcats Win

Joseph City's tournament run continued when they took on Arizona College Prep on Thursday. The Joseph City Wildcats put the hurt on the Arizona College Prep Knights with a sharp 49-29 victory. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 20 points or more this season.

Joseph City's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amber Neill, who went 6 for 15 on her way to 17 points. April Neill was another key player, putting up 11 points and five rebounds.

Joseph City smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in eight consecutive matches.

Defeat or not, Arizona College Prep got some senior leadership from Chloe Warren and Patsy VanArsdale. Warren posted nine points, while VanArsdale had two points along with eight rebounds, seven assists, and four steals.

Joseph City's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Arizona College Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Flagstaff the next time they take the court. Arizona College Prep will head out to face Flagstaff at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Joseph City will play them later in the day, at 10:00 a.m.
