Cardinal suffered their closest defeat since April 2nd on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Mathews Mustangs by a score of 12-10. The Huskies' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Brooklyn Whitely was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Pleva, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Cardinal now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Mathews, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-8.

Coming up, Cardinal will square off against Kenston at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mathews, they will challenge Struthers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
