Baseball Recap: Amity Warriors vs. Scio Loggers

Amity extended their losing streak to seven on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 1-9 in the process. They lost 10-4 to the Scio Loggers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Loggers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-2 on Tuesday.

Tyler Petrasek made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Austin Grant also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

As for Scio, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-12. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Scio's side, Braxton Carlson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Carlson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Henry Siegmund was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. He continues to improve, besting his previous run total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Triston Garton, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Amity is set to take on their familiar foe Blanchet Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Scio will square off against rival Dayton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
