Baseball Recap: Monroe Takes a Loss

Monroe couldn't beat Oregon on Saturday even though they stacked five runs on them in the fifth inning. The Cheesemakers took a 12-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. The defeat continues a trend for the Cheesemakers in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost nine in a row.

Monroe's loss dropped their record down to 3-10-1. As for Oregon, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Monroe will challenge Portage at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Oregon, they will square off against Madison La Follette at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
