Game recap: Centauri High School Football Team takes down Dolores

DOLORES, Colo. - the Falcons scored 32 points in the second quarter to secure a big 57-7 victory over Dolores (Colo.) on Saturday.

Centauri scored on a KC Jarvies touchdown pass to Jareb Aziz, a punt return touchdown by Jason Buhr, a touchdown pass by Jarvies to Clay McCarroll, a defensive touchdown and a Jarvies touchdown run in the quarter.

After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Buhr in the first quarter, CHS led 38-7 at the half.

The La Jara school grew its lead to 43 points entering the fourth quarter. The Falcons scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Aziz.

With the win Centauri extended its winning streak to six games. Centauri defeated Del Norte 61-7 last week.

Dolores' only touchdown came on a 69-yard pass from undefined to Deano Valdez in the second quarter.



CHS came into the game allowing 10.4 points per game.

The loss was the third in a row for the Bears.

Dolores (1-6) will play a 1A Southern Peaks game against Ignacio next week, while Centauri (7-1) will take on Monte Vista also in a 1A Southern Peaks game.
