Recap: Basic Wolves vs. Chaparral Cowboys
The Basic Wolves's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against Chaparral by a score of 50-37. For Basic, this counts as revenge for the 74-69 defeat Chaparral walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February.
Basic's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christian Baltierrez, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tayshaun Waldrop, who scored 9 points.
The victory got Basic back to even at 2-2. As for Chaparral, they bumped their record down to 1-4 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Basic will face off against Faith Lutheran at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Faith Lutheran has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 294 points over their last four matchups. As for Chaparral, they will head out on the road to face off against Western at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Western is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
