With a playoff win on the line, Vestavia Hills rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They pulled ahead with a 20-19 photo finish over the Spain Park Jaguars. The victory was nothing new for the Rebels as they're now sitting on 27 straight.

A big part of Vestavia Hills' win came down to the chemistry between Julia Rose and her top target Molly Mac Sharp. Rose threw for 264 yards and three touchdowns while Sharp picked up 135 receiving yards and a pair of scores. That's the most passing yards Rose has posted since back in September.

Vestavia Hills didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Emma Kate Jacobs, Alexis Rubin, and Kate Fitzpatrick picked up one apiece. Jacobs has been hot recently, having also posted at least one defended passe the last three times she's played. Vestavia Hills got some further help from Emma Harper: she picked up a sack and made six total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Vestavia Hills' victory bumped their record up to 28-1. As for Spain Park, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-6.

Coming up, Vestavia Hills will square off against Central at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rebels will need to watch out since the Red Devils have now posted at least 31 points in their last 11 contests. Spain Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
