Basketball Recap: Miles Parker's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Scottsdale Christian Academy over St. Johns

Scottsdale Christian Academy and St. Johns squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Scottsdale Christian Academy had to settle for second. They fell just short of the St. Johns Redskins by a score of 67-64.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Miles Parker, who went 7-for-10 en route to 17 points. The dominant performance gave Parker a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Cash Gorder, who went 6-for-13 on his way to 13 points and seven rebounds.

Scottsdale Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 17-11. As for St. Johns, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-13.

Scottsdale Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Johns, they will challenge North Valley Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Johns knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matches -- so hopefully North Valley Christian Academy likes a good challenge.
