Basketball Recap: The City School Comes Up Short

The City School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 51-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Kohelet Yeshiva. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 56-39 last Monday.

Chezky Levitt continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Kohelet Yeshiva, dropping a double-double on 33 points and 13 boards. Levitt's afternoon made it 12 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Max Bender was another key player, putting up three points in addition to seven assists and seven rebounds.

The City School's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Kohelet Yeshiva, the win got them back to even at 9-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. The City School won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Kimberton Waldorf at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kohelet Yeshiva, they will also get right back to it: they'll take on Solebury at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Solebury knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Kohelet Yeshiva likes a good challenge.
