Football Recap: Linfield Christian Starts Season with Loss at Home + How To Watch

Linfield Christian unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through a 46-14 loss at the hands of the Xavier Prep Saints. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 56-7 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2021.

Although Linfield Christian took the loss, they still got scores from Madden Mayer and Jason Brenier.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Xavier Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kingston Pellum, who rushed for 87 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 60 yards and one touchdown. Those 87 rushing yards gave Pellum a new career-high. Xavier Prep's leading receiver Anthony Creek-Pellum was Pellum's top target yet again, picking up 24 receiving yards and one TD, while also rushing for 46 yards and one score.

Coming up, Linfield Christian will square off against Jackson Hole at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Xavier Prep, they will challenge Desert Hot Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
