It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Shelby ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They walked away with a 13-9 victory over the Clyde Fliers. The win was familiar territory for the Whippets, who have now won four games in a row.

Shelby pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Clyde, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.

Looking ahead, Shelby will be playing in front of their home fans against River Valley at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clyde, they will take on Perkins at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pirates' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Fliers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
