Softball Game Preview: Leechburg Blue Devils vs. Serra Catholic Eagles

Leechburg hasn't had much luck against Serra Catholic recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Blue Devils will square off against the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Leechburg has given up an average of 12.8 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Leechburg lost 17-1 to Serra Catholic on Friday.

For Serra Catholic's part, Giana Foster made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Foster was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025.

In other batting news, Alonna Morton was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Brianna Dobnak, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

The victory was the eighth in a row for Serra Catholic, bringing their record up to 8-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Leechburg, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.
