Baseball Game Preview: Legion Collegiate Academy Lancers vs. Cherryville Ironmen

The Legion Collegiate Academy Lancers will head out to face off against the Cherryville Ironmen at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Legion Collegiate Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.

Legion Collegiate Academy proved they can win big on Friday (they won by ten) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past North Brunswick 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lancers have posted since March 17th.

Meanwhile, Cherryville entered their tilt with South Stanly on Monday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with a 7-4 win over the Rowdy Rebel Bulls.

Parker Anderson was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Talon Dalton, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Legion Collegiate Academy pushed their record up to 16-8 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Cherryville, their victory bumped their record up to 15-5.
