Cedar Valley faced Cedar in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. Cedar Valley came up short against Cedar, falling 17-9. The Aviators' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Ayden Laws was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Cash Poulson, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Cedar Valley now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Cedar, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season.
