Basketball Recap: Momence Comes Up Short

Momence was the 60-56 winner over Grant Park when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Momence Momence Athletics had to suffer through a 65-38 loss at the hands of the Grant Park Dragons.

Several Momence Athletics players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jackson Ford, who posted two points in addition to 11 boards and three steals. The dominant performance gave Ford a new career-high in rebounds. Erick Castillo was another key player, putting up nine points.

Momence dropped their record down to 9-16 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Grant Park, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-18.

Momence didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 69-44 win against Donovan on the 18th. As for Grant Park, they will face off against Peotone at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
