For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Deer Park and Rogers meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Saturday. The Stags' pitcher stepped up to hand the Pirates a 13-0 shutout. The Stags might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.
Ian Olietti made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Deer Park is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 5-6 otherwise. Olietti was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, Deer Park got a massive performance out of Austin Bruner, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Bruner has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Robb Hunter, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
North Central's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Deer Park, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
