Soccer Game Preview: Campo Verde vs. Mesa

Campo Verde is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Mesa is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Campo Verde Coyotes will welcome the Mesa Jackrabbits at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams each escaped with close wins against their previous opponents.

Campo Verde is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: Catalina Foothills, who was ranked 16th at the time (Campo Verde was ranked ninth). Campo Verde never let Catalina Foothills onto the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Friday. The Coyotes haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Campo Verde's one-goal win came courtesy of Johan Tanzer, who's now up to ten this season.

Meanwhile, Mesa narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Sunrise Mountain 1-0. The Jackrabbits' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last six games.

Mesa is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 34 goals over those 11 matches. As for Campo Verde, their win bumped their record up to 16-4.
